still lyte as a rock
did i enjoy mc lyte’s show last night at the melkweg amsterdam? yes! did i take any decent pics? no! why? sometimes a girl just wants to have fun and sometimes she accidentally brings the wrong lens.
after a few shots with my ‘wrong’ lens i gave up and was like: whatever i’m just gonna enjoy the show. deluge on the other hand took some great shots.
i was really excited about the show cause i saw her live 2 months ago and it was fun!
no different this time. she did her thing.. with a dj, a drummer and a back up mc. unfortunately the crowd was hard to enthuse. they probably weren’t familiar with her music and it probably also consisted of a bunch of amsterdam tourists who ended up at the milky way only to party on a saturday night. either way.. mc lyte did her best and with her charisma she got the crowd going.
she started the show with the classic cha cha cha. how can you not get hyped up? and after watching this female mc tribute to mc lyte i might even go listen to remy ma. (*not live*..maybe in 8 yrs..)
what amazed me is that nobody sung a long with lyte’s part of i wanna be down. HELLO. where or when did you guys grow up?!
after the show there was this interviewer asking my friend and i how old we were, cause he thought we were too young to know mc lyte. we might look young, fresh and wild, but we oldies, buddy.
