We used to go to every party in 2002/2003..It seemed like everyone was organizing parties every week. And real effort was put into the presentation of the parties. It slowed down a lot and we miss parties where they spin good hiphop.
Chocolate was the place-to-be at that time (in Rotterdam). The music, the decoration, the free mix cd’s, the t-shirts, the beat-the-line tickets, (yea, it was that crowded). Shout out to the original Chocolate crew. (Amsterdam & Rotterdam)
Jeroen, O, R and Faiza.
This was actually my second fase of partying. The first one started when I was around 18. We killed Goldfinger in Rosmalen every friday!! First on the dancefloor, last to leave! Words can not explain the fun we had. After that it was Bassline at Paradiso all the way. I remember saying to my friend: the concentration of cute guys per square meter tops every other party.
Let’s all pray a third fase will come my way.
The other day Faiza celebrated her birthday party <–(check out the photos) at a spot called Camping in Rotterdam. This was definitely the livest party in a long while! A traditional Moroccan band took over. No other party where you can see Morrocan girls and Cape verdian (did i say that right?) fellas shaking their butts and battling eachother.
a while ago we went to the (last?) blacksoil festival in rotterdam at club watt to see the documentary ’stars in his eyes’ about new york party promotor damon peruzzi/damon gabriel made by my friend bibi. it was good.
you need that dyson airblade.
they renovated the old nighttown well. club watt is spacious and visually appetizing. i like it. plus it’s ‘green’. and you know that’s the new hip. (puke). but seriously ‘green’ = good.
jeroen and marlon.
we were actually ready to leave, but decided to make a stop at the attached cafe. look who we bumped into! dre, jeroen, marly, greg having a discussion with dj’s rich medina and spinna.
dre and jeroen just came back from their stay in rio, brazil. they worked on this cool project called favela painting. it’s amazing what they did and you should go to their site and take a look.
bibi and dre.
nesi and jewel. jewel got big! everytime i see her i have to explain her who i am lol
and ofcourse jen and i ended our evening at warung mini with our favourites: saoto soup, baka bana with peanutsauce and dawet (the pink drink). looks bad, but tastes great.
